Toronto Band Parents having fundraiser dinner Sunday
TORONTO -- Members of the Toronto Band Parents are holding their annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser, which will be held Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. in the Toronto Junior-Senior High School cafetorium.
Patrons can dine in or get carryout.
The menu includes a spaghetti dinner for $10, which includes a side salad, bread and a drink; a lasagna dinner for $12 which is pre-order only; a meatball sandwich for $5; wedding soup for $5;, salad for $2; and dessert for $2.
Dinners can be pre-ordered and prepaid by Thursday by calling Ashley Owings at (740) 632-3506 or clicking on the link on the Toronto Band Parents Facebook page. Checks can be made payable to Toronto Band Parents and mailed to P.O. Box 22, Toronto OH 43964 or PayPal@torontobandparents.
There will be a 50-50 drawings and drawings for baskets. A new feature will be special musical performances by current band students.
Never Alone holds monthly
meetings at Weirton church
WEIRTON -- Never Alone WV, a nonprofit Christian organization established in 2010. that supports an addiction-free community, hosts monthly meetings at Crossroads Church on Penco Road in Weirton.
The meetings are always on the second Monday of the month, and they begin at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
"We support those struggling, their families and friends and community that wants to make a difference to attend," noted founder Patti Barnabei. "We assist with getting into detox, rehab and half-way homes," she added.

Phone, fax number directive for southern library branches
STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County is upgrading its phone system and switching carriers from Frontier to AT&T with Feb. 27 the day scheduled to change contact information for its southern branches.
However, because of unforeseen complications by AT&T, the original phone and fax numbers at the southern library branches -- Adena, Brilliant, Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant and Tiltonsville -- will remain in use until the company can resolve the issue.
"The new phone numbers that were given to the library are long-distance numbers for customers in the area, so if an Adena patron would call the Adena Branch Library it would be a long-distance phone call. Once AT&T resolves the issue, a new set of phone and fax numbers will be provided for the library's new phone system," explained Jennifer Cesta, the library system's public relations coordinator.
"We will provide the public with the new contact numbers once we receive them. Contact information for the Main Library, Schiappa Branch and Toronto Branch remains the same."
Patrons are advised to continue using the original phone and fax numbers for the southern library branches. They are:
– Adena Branch: Phone, (740) 546-3782 and fax, (740) 546-3382.
– Brilliant Branch: Phone, (740) 598-4028 and fax, (740) 598-4456.
– Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch: Phone, (740) 769-2090 and fax, (740) 769-2771.

Two-day Bible Bowl set at Weirton Church of Christ
WEIRTON -- The Weirton Heights Church of Christ, located at 3169 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton, will be hosting the 35th-annual Miami Valley Bible Bowl on Saturday and Sunday.
Grade school and high school students and adults from Churches of Christ in five states will be participating in the Jeopardy-style competition.
This marks the third year for the Weirton Heights Church of Christ to host the event.
Organized by Bruce Addams in 1988 at Ohio Valley College in Parkersburg, the Miami Valley Bible Bowl was founded with the goals of encouraging study of the Bible and the opportunity for Christians in different communities around the country to have friendly competition with the goal of building long-term friendships, a spokesperson explained.
The event is open to the public to watch the competition and will be streamed live on the Weirton Heights Church of Christ Facebook page on Saturday and on the church's youtube channel on Sunday. The website is www.weirtonheightscoc.com. For information, call the church at (304) 723-1160.
Steubenville High School Class of 1959 plans March 8 meeting
STEUBENVILLE -- Members of Steubenville High School's Class of 1959 met in February with 21 in attendance.
Norina Eroshevich provided the blessing, and the group shared memories of Ernie "Tennis Shoe Ernie" Hollinger Jr., who recently died. The group welcomed Helen Duco and Marliese Brandt. Thinking of you and well wishes cards were sent to class members.
Ginger Roach provided a birthday cake in celebration of birthdays for Roach, Brandt and Jeannie Lulla.
The next meeting for the class will be held March 8 at Froehlich's Classic Corner in Steubenville, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Contact Eroshevich at (740) 219-2234 to make a reservation. All are welcome to attend.
Flea market is Saturday at Hopedale Fire Department
HOPEDALE -- The Hopedale Fire Department will be hosting a flea market on Saturday in the Hopedale Social Hall, 103 Fire House Lane, Hopedale.
Doors open at 9 a.m. with the event continuing until 3 p.m. with a breakfast and lunch stand operating throughout the day.
