WEIRTON -- The All Saints Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos recently participated in a Philoptochos Day of Service, sponsored by their metropolis.
They chose to show appreciation and "serve" the men and women who courageously serve the city of Weirton every day.
"Among their services, they are skilled in providing protection to our families and property, often preserving life in emergency situations," a spokeswoman noted.
A meal consisting of pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, potato salad, fruit, snacks and a variety of desserts was served from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate the shift changes for the police and fire department representatives on hand. Also attending was Echo, the K-9, who enjoyed a doggie biscuit.
