Top finishers in Pat Campbell Fighting Cancer 5K are listed
TORONTO -- The top finishers in the Pat Campbell Fighting Cancer 5K Run/Walk held by Crossroads North River Church on Saturday as a fundraiser for the Teramana Cancer Center TEAR Fund were:
Top male runner: Bobby McDonald of Toronto; top male walker: Christopher Fox of Wellsburg; top female runner: Aubrey Duggan, city not listed; and top female walker: Eileen Allison of Toronto.
The top three male runners in various age groups were: 18 and under: Brayden Medley, Caleb Graves and Jude Kimble; ages 19-29: Bobby McDonald, Mitch Sagan and Nick Kissinger; age 30-39: Andrew Henry, Kyle Kull and John Polverini; age 40-49: William Young, Bryan Hyndman and Isaac Evans; ages 50-59: Bob Floor, Carl Kondrach and Ron Bolster; and age 60 and older: David Kelly, Scott Mapes and Doug Midcap.
The top three female runners in various age groups were: 18 and under: Aubrey Duggan, Lacy Tuttle and Katelynn Daugherty; ages 19-29: Vicki Crow, Courtney Hatcher and Margie Kissinger; ages 30-39: Lauren Baker, Emily Antill and Wendy Clark; ages 40-49: Kelly Francy, Beth Kruprzak and Aleshia Wilson; ages 50-59: Cathy Forsyth, Meghan Crow and Tambi Wade; age 60 and older: Annette Cooper, Peggy LaSola and Coleen Wickham.
The top three male walkers in various age groups were: 18 and under: Jace Elia, Aidan Myslinsky and Wyatt Speaker; ages 19-29: Dylan McMillen, Josh Coffin and Hayden Grimm; ages 30-39: Eric Fithyan, Tom Houk and Jeff Mettenberger; ages 40-49: Christopher Fox, Tom Emery and Aaron Ruble; ages 50-59: Scott Caldwell, Scott Shevelow and Blake Headen; and age 60 and older: David Workman, Gary Babaryk and Dan Means.

ADBC Museum to remember Vietnam with Brooke display
WELLSBURG -- A display at the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor Museum and Educational Center is paying tribute to more than a dozen local men who lost their lives during the Vietnam War.
Opened in observance of the upcoming Vietnam Veterans Day, the display is available for viewing during regular hours of the Brooke County Public Library, where the museum is located.
They are: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The display includes photos and information about the 12 men as well as the burial flag for Robert Durbin, who was among them.
Brooke Library to show 'Hello, Bookstore' documentary
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library will show "Hello, Bookstore," a documentary about the challenges faced by 40-year-old bookstore in Massachusetts, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 30.

Those registering for the virtual screening will be sent to the Kinema platform, where they will be asked for their e-mail address so a link allowing them to access the film may be sent at the time of the in-person screening.
Steubenville High School Alumni Association to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Steubenville High School Alumni Association will hold its next meeting on Tuesday at Scaffidi's Restaurant and Tavern in Steubenville.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
East Springfield Cemetery
decorations advisory noted
EAST SPRINGFIELD -- Maintenance personnel of the East Springfield Cemetery are planning to remove all temporary grave decorations from the cemetery on April 1 in preparation for the mowing season.
Easter and other spring decorations should not be placed prior to that date, and anything the plot owners desire to keep from the previous season should be retrieved before then, a spokesperson explained.
New Cumberland Lions Club learns dates for projects
NEW CUMBERLAND -- President Dorothy Hawkes presided at the March 14 meeting of the New Cumberland Lions Club.
Jennifer Meeker led in the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes were accepted as read. A letter from Leader Dogs was received outlining donation options. The treasurer's report was presented and placed on file for audit.
Jeanne Cox has Flag Day scheduled for April 21 at New Manchester Elementary School.
The Adopt A Highway spring cleanup will be held at the end of April. The first pulled pork fundraiser will be held May 27 over the Memorial Day weekend, in the parking lot of the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland.The club will participate in the Memorial Day parade on May 29.
Hawkes noted that the W.Va. Lions Club state convention will be at Flatwoods.
The next regular meeting will be held March 28 at the New Cumberland Christian Church with a program provided by the Hancock County Health Department.
Recipe club to meet March 31, share dishes for Easter dinner
WELLSBURG -- Adults in the Brooke County Library's Recipe Club will share recipes for Easter dinners and their finished product with each other at noon March 31.

Pet photos with Easter bunny
WEIRTON -- The Hancock County Humane Foundation will host pet photos with the Easter bunny on April 1 from noon to 5 p.m. at America's Wholesale Outlet in the Weirton Shopping Plaza. All proceeds benefit homeless animals.
