Law firm will match donations
to United Way through today
WHEELING -- Officials with the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley have announced that up to $15,000 in donations to the organization through today will be matched by the Bordas & Bordas law firm through its Match Madness campaign.
The organization provides financial support to 30 area nonprofit organizations, including the Brooke and Hancock County Salvation Army, Brooke County Public Libraries, the Brooke County Committee on Aging, which oversees the Brooke County Senior Center; and the Upper Ohio Valley Sexual Assault Help Center.

Cabbage roll dinner Saturday at St. Thomas Episcopal
WEIRTON -- St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located at 300 Three Springs Drive, Weirton, is having a cabbage roll dinner fundraiser on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The dinner includes cabbage roll, mashed potatoes, green beans and a roll for $13. A child's dinner with a hot dog, mashed potatoes and green beans is $6.
Individual cabbage rolls will be for sale for $4. There will be an Easter bake sale. Patrons can dine in or get takeout. For takeout orders, call the church after 10 a.m. on Saturday at (304) 723-4120.
Greater Weirton Senior Center to host Easter dance on April 6
WEIRTON -- The Greater Weirton Senior Center, located at 3425 Main St., Weirton, will host an Easter dance on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., according to Tammy Margetic, center director.
The cost is $5, which includes a hot dog nad punch. Attendees are asked to bring a covered-dish or a dessert to share.
There will be a 50-50 drawings ith six tickets available for $5.
Indoor yard sale Saturday
at center in Unionport
UNIONPORT -- The Wayne Township Community Center in Unionport will host a large indoor yard sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Food will be served.
Proceeds benefit the center's upkeep.
Weir High School Class of 1970 schedules dinner meeting
WEIRTON -- Members of Weir High School's Class of 1970 will have their monthly dinner on April 5, beginning at 6 p.m. at Mario's Restaurant, located at 3806 Main St., Weirton.
All classmates and their guests are invited to attend.
Easter Bunny coming to story hour at Brooke County Library
WELLSBURG -- The Easter Bunny will stop by for a story hour at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brooke County Public Library.
There will be a craft, songs and food.

Libraries to close early April 7
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library and its Follansbee branch will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on April 7, which is Good Friday.
The holiday weekend won't affect the libraries' Saturday hours.
