The Weirton Kiwanis Club has kicked off its fundraising tradition of more than 65 years -- the John B. Sorrenti Sr. annual auction. The online Facebook auction bidding opens at noon today and continues through 9 p.m. on Wednesday. To access the Weirton Kiwanis Facebook Auction 2023, go to Facebook and search for Kiwanis Club of Weirton. The auction event page will be listed on there and can be clicked on. Items to be bid on will be shown in the "Discussion" section.
While the auction is live, bidding will take place by making a bid for each item under the specific item picture. For most items, the bidding will start at half the value of each item and increase by one dollar. When the auction closes at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, the highest bid commented under each item will win the item. The highest bidders will be announced on the event page on Friday.
Winning bidders will be responsible for paying for and picking up their winning item May 1 at the Holiday Inn in Weirton from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment will be received for the amount bid in the form of cash or a check made payable to Weirton Kiwanis Club.
