WEIRTON -- The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary will be holding a $5 Masquerade jewelry and accessories sale.
It will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m on Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m on Friday. The sale will be held in the medical center atrium located on Colliers Way.
Annapolis Mini Flea Market
is scheduled for May 13

Dinner fundraiser on May 13 at Unionport Masonic Lodge
UNIONPORT -- The Unionport Masonic Lodge, located on county Road 39, Unionport, will hold a pancake and sausage dinner fundraiser on May 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The menu includes a regular or buckwheat pancake, sausage, cake, ice cream and a drink. Cost is by donation.
East Springfield Community Center to host yard sale
EAST SPRINGFIELD -- The East Springfield Community Center, located on county Road 39 next to the East Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, will host a yard sale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days.

Two-day rummage sale at St. Thomas Episcopal Church
WEIRTON -- St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Three Springs Drive, Weirton is having its annual rummage sale on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

WEIRTON -- The Weir High Class of 1970 will have its next dinner meeting on Wednesday at Mario's Restaurant, located at 3806 Main St., Weirton.
It begins at 6 p.m. All classmates and their guests are invited to attend.
Taking Steps to End Elder Abuse 5K Run/Walk June 10
STEUBENVILLE -- Jim Wood Park in Steubenville's West End will be the setting on June 10 for the Taking Steps to End Elder Abuse 5K Run and Walk.
The event is being held in observance of Elder Abuse Awareness Day, which is June 15, according to Marie Holt of Jefferson County Job and Family Services, Adult Protective Services.
"One in 10 seniors 60 years and older suffers from some type of elder abuse," noted Holt, who explained that Adult Protective Services and the Jefferson County Health Department are partnering on the June 10 event where proceeds will benefit Urban Mission's senior food box program.
There will be a 1K Kids Run beginning at 9 a.m.; the adult 5K run starting at 9:20 a.m.; and the 5K walk getting under way at 9:25 a.m.
Same-day registration is from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

There is a flier QR code for people to register. There will be T-shirts included for the first 100 people who sign up. There will be medals awarded to the top runners and walkers in their age group.
A DJ, drawings for baskets and vendor tables from community agencies that help seniors in the community will be part of the festivities.
Funseekers schedule next
dinner meeting for Wednesday
WEIRTON -- Joann Bugin led the 57 members attending the April meeting of the Funseekers with the Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of "God Bless America" and a brief reading at the dinner gathering held at Undo's in Weirton.
President Judi Gaynor acknowledged April birthdays and anniversaries. Gaynor read a thank-you note from Mary Margaret Klepadlo for the club's remberence gift with the death of Walter Klepadlo, a longtime member of Funseekers. Dinner was served buffet style.
Following dinner, Bobbyjon Bauman of the Sycamore Youth Center in Steubenville introduced Bailey McNight, Nina Holt and Bella Thompson, who performed a variety of musical selections for the club. Afterward, Bauman gave a brief overview about the center and its youth programs.
During the business meeting, Gaynor presided. The treasury and secretarial reports were read and approved. The group's next meeting, which will be held Wednesday, will be at Undo's, it was decided.
Gaynor announced the picnic will be Aug. 6 at Aracoma Park in Mingo Junction. John Balzano has reserved the main shelter house for the event. Gaynor asked for volunteers to sign up to bring door prizes for the next several months. She will schedule a board meeting to discuss picnic plans, the election of new officers and to review Ohio site options for meetings.
Tour Chair Regina Truax reviewed trips and excursions. They included: Sunday, Lincoln Park in Midland, Pa., for "An American in Paris;" May 17-19, Lancaster Sight and Sound Theater, "Moses;" May 23, Rivers Casino trip; June 18, Lincoln Park, Midland, Pa., "The Play That Goes Wrong;" June 23, Sugarcreek trip; July 4, Gateway Clipper dinner cruise with fireworks from the deck; July 21, Hartville Acres Flea Market; Aug. 23-25, Frederick, Va., Broadway show and tour of the area; Sept. 17, Pittsburgh Pirates vs. New York Yankees Baseball in Pittsburgh; Oct. 13, MGM Casino, Northfield, Ohio; and Nov. 24, Oglebay Festival of Lights and dinner at Wilson Lodge.

Door prizes were presented by John and Donna Balzano and Rose Chappano to Ray Dalfonso, Les Stuckmeyer, Carol Wisnieski, Chuck Bugin, Judi Gaynor, Mike Rowland, Mary Margaret Klepadlo, Joann Mulrooney, Chris Sklenar and Valerie Rowland. The Undo's gift certificate was awarded to Linda Lenzi.
The next meeting on Wednesday begins at 6 p.m. at Undo's. It is a game night with cash prizes for several bingo games.

WEIRTON -- The Weirton American Legion Post 10, located at 3140 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton, will host a flea market on May 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
