Hancock County 4-H Camp provides local food program

NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Hancock County 4-H Camp will sponsor its federally-funded Summer Food Service Program, scheduled to run between July 18-22 at Tomlinson Run State Park, located at 3391 Veteran's Blvd. in New Cumberland.

Meals will be provided to all eligible children, free of charge. To be eligible for free meals at camp or in an enrolled program, one must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. The income guidelines for reduced price meals by family size and before deductions are as follows: one-person household, $2,248 monthly, $26,973 annually; two-person household, $3,041 monthly, $36,482 annually; three-person household, $3,833 monthly, $45,991 annually; four-person household, $4,625 monthly, $55,500 annually; five-person household, $5,418 monthly, $65,009 annually; six-person household, $6,210 monthly, $74,518 annually; seven-person household, $7,003 monthly, $84,027 annually; and eight-person household, $7,795 monthly, $93,536 annually. For each additional person, add $793 monthly and $9,509 annually.

Children who are part of households receiving SNAP or TANF assistance are automatically eligible to receive free meals. For information about the Hancock County 4-H Summer Food Program, call Nila Cobb at (304) 720-9883.
