May Friendship Day was celebrated by the Weirton Unit of Church Women United, at Oakland Presbyterian Church in Weirton, May 5. Participants taking part in the day's event represented eight area churches consisting of 22 local women. In addition, Sarah Hilditch, a representative of the Lighthouse in Weirton, was in attendance. Hilditch accepted a donation of personal care items, collected through donations for the organization. The contribution of personal care items was presented by Diane Pastoric on behalf of the group. The friendship day event also held a Litany: 7 Up Blessings and meal.
