Several area students were recognized with scholarships from the Steubenville Rotary Club during its May 17 meeting at the JeffCo Event Center. On hand for the presentation of the awards were, from left, Dillon Arai of Catholic Central High School, the son of Sean and Janine Arai; Sy Howell of Indian Creek High School, the son of Kent and Kim Howell; Kaydence Kinyo of Buckeye Local High School, the daughter of Krista and Ken Kinyo; Lindsey Zifzal of Indian Creek High School, the daughter of Dwayne and Melissa Zifzal; and Charles Joyce, chairman of the club's scholarship committee. Recipients were chosen using criteria that included their responses to an essay question that asked what Service Above Self -- Rotary's motto -- means to them. — Contributed
