Dorothy Hawkes, right, president of the New Cumberland Lions Club, introduced visitor Loranna Tate, a past president and past secretary, at a recent meeting where Hawkes opened the floor for reports. Jeanne Cox said the flag program was presented to the students at New Manchester Elementary School on April 21. Tom Stiles scheduled the Adopt-A-Highway cleanup for April 29with members starting at the Department of Highways garage. The minutes were accepted as read. Communications were received from District Gov. Jay Houser regarding the upcoming election to be held Sunday at the Multiple District 29 Convention. A letter of thanks was received from the Lions Club International Foundation and the W.Va. Lions Sight Conservation Foundation Inc. for recent donations received from the club. The treasurer's report was placed on file for audit. Joyce Young presented the officer nominations for the 2023-24 year. Nominations were opened to the floor and an additional nomination for the office of president was made.
