Weir High to perform Legally Blonde

ON STAGE — Students in Weir High School’s theater club are preparing for this weekend’s performance of, “Legally Blonde, the Musical Jr.” The show will run Saturday through Monday at the high school with tickets on sale at whs.hancock.k12.wv.us/o/whs/page/online-tickets. -- Contributed

WEIRTON -- This weekend is the return of Weir High School's theater performance, with students set to dramatize Laurence O-Keef and Nell Benjamin's, "Legally Blonde, the Musical Jr."

The event will run for three days, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday; 3 p.m. Sunday; and 7 p.m. Monday. Tickets are available online at whs.hancock.k12.wv.us/o/whs/page/online-tickets.

"Legally Blonde, the Musical Jr." is, a heartwarming tale of being true to ourselves and understanding the power of law through the energetic pink-suited blonde lead."

The show's director, Emily Hores, has prior experience and the students featured in the performance are, "a talented cast of enthusiastic high school actors," she said. Officials at Weir High are excited about the show and welcomes this musical -- being it is its first production in years.

"The resurgence of musical theater ushers in a revitalization of the program," Hores said. "The talented cast and crew create a fast-paced ride through the hallowed halls of Harvard Law."

The show will run approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes including intermission. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance.
