Women in Action Against Cancer Coalition recently donated 30 gift bags for new patients of the Trinity Tony Teramana Medical Oncology cancer center. The bags consist of a blanket, candy, pencils, hand sanitizer, crossword puzzle, information folder about nonprofit organizations and a scarf donated from Happy Hooves and Fancy Feathers 4-H club. In addition, the coalition gave each person a $30 gift card to Bob Evans. Those taking part in the donation were, Sarah Grafton, front; and back, from left: Dr. Pritish Iyer, Dr. Pervaiz Rahman, Dr. John Hyland, Leslie Aftanas, Jean Lamatrice, Marcella Miller and Ann Cash. The WIAACC has been around approximately 30 years, helping many people throughout Jefferson County. The group educates about the need to have yearly screenings and pays for those who have little or no insurance to get these procedures done. New members are welcomed. Those interested in joining the Women's Health Center can call (740) 282-5676. — Contributed
