STEUBENVILLE -- Members of the Jefferson County PERI District 9, Chapter 5 held their May meeting at Froehlich's Classic Corner, with co-presidents Terry Jennings and Pat Horton presiding.
The group discussed highlights from the District 9 annual meeting held in Cambridge on May 2. It was noted the Jefferson County unit had the second-most meeting attendees, with first-place going to host Guernsey County.
Sue Hogue introduced guest speaker Trudy Wilson, director of the Jefferson County Prime Time Office on Aging. Wilson discussed various programs and activities provided by the agency for the residents throughout the area.
Members present at the meeting signed and addressed individual thank-you letters to U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Marietta. The focus of the letters were to thank him for his co-sponsorship of the H.R. 82 Social Security Fairness Act of 2023.It was announced PERI's annual statewide convention will take place Sept. 18 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Worthington.
The 50/50 drawing winner was John McDevitt.
