Comedy centers around double life

A DOUBLE LIFE — Scenes from, “Run for Your Wife,” were rehearsed by those actors at the Brooke Hills Playhouse. The show is a comedy involving a man who lives a double life. WELLSBURG -- Brooke Hills Playhouse will present, "Run for Your Wife," a play about an ordinary London taxi driver with two wives in two towns. Shows will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday; 8 p.m. Aug. 4-5; and 2 p.m. Aug. 6.

Written by Ray Cooney in 1982, the British comedy is centered around the complications that arise when one learns about the other.

Under the direction of Rob DeSantis of Follansbee, its cast includes Cliff Welch and Keri Everhart, both of Weirton; Makayla Carney and Jamie Hamilton, both of Wheeling; Brandon Yost of Wellsburg, Twist Oliver of Weirton, and Dan Harry and Brendan Sheehan of Wheeling.

Tickets are $10 for children, $12 for senior citizens and students, and $14 for adults.

The box office opens one hour before showtime. Reservations can be made by calling (304) 737-3344.

Municipal Mutual Insurance Co. and Reasner of Wellsburg are this season's sponsors.

The playhouse is seeking donations to match a state grant.

The money will be used to update the playhouse's electricity.
