TCC stores to hold Backpack giveaway, Sunday

STEUBENVILLE -- The nation's largest Verizon authorized retailer, Round Room, LLC, has announced its TCC and Wireless Zone retailers will be donating 120,000 backpacks containing school supplies, Sunday.
And some of those stores can be found right here in the Ohio Valley.
The 11th-annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday at more than 1,000 TCC and Wireless Zone stores throughout the country, according to the retailer's online release. Businesses taking part locally include: TCC Steubenville, 2203 Sunset Blvd., Suite 3; TCC Wintersville, 864 Main St., Wintersville; and TCC Weirton, 241 Three Springs Drive, Suite 2021.
Each backpack will contain pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler and glue. There will be one backpack given per child who is present, on a first-come, first-served basis, according to organizers. Any backpacks remaining following the giveaway, will be donated to each store's choice of school within the local school districts.
"The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway is our company's cornerstone annual event," stated Round Room CEO Scott Moorehead. "I couldn't be more thankful for our store locations, employees and customers for helping us continue to do good in the thousands of communities we operate in."
"The start of the school year is an exciting time for many, and we look forward every year to make school supplies more accessible for students so they can thrive in the classroom," Moorehead said.
Round Room's aim is to ease the strain of rising school supply costs by holding the annual giveaway.
