STEUBENVILLE -- Members of the Jefferson County PERI District 9, Chapter 5 met July 12 at Froehlich's Classic Corner.
Co-presidents Terry Jennings and Pat Horton presided over the meeting.
It was announced PERI representative Jim Range, PERI District 9 representative, will be the guest for the August meeting, scheduled for 10:50 a.m. Wednesday at Froehlich's.
Officials discussed the schedule of its upcoming state meeting.
PERI's annual state meeting will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Columbus.
A general Ohio Public Employees Retirement System session will take place during the morning.
Everyone is invited to attend the session.
Attendees will then have the opportunity to learn from a variety of experts who will be making presentations in 45-minute breakout sessions.
Four different topics of interest to retirees will be discussed, it was stated.

Members were read a thank you letter from U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Marietta.
The letter from Johnson thanked the PERI chapter for its letters in which he was asked to co-sponsor HR 82, the Social Security Fairness Act of 2023.
