Tomahawks present car show project

The Cross Creek Tomahawks 4-H Club selected to do a car show as this year's fundraising project. This is the first time a car show has served as the group's project. The event was held in the Ferguson's House of Furniture parking lot, Sunday morning. Officials stated the project was a success, as 114 participants registered their cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles for the 11 a.m. show. All makes, models and years were welcomed, with the club awarding 20 plaques and one overall award. Spike Man was the disc jockey, assisting with music and announcements. Food was provided by K&V Burgers, Dogs and More. Cross Creek Tomahawks thanked all participants and sponsors, including: LK250 Auto Parts; Bruzzese, Hanlin, Bruzzese Law; Brightside Junction/Tavern; R. Davis and Sons Heating and Cooling; Dr. Thomas Matanzo; Golden Triangle Construction; and Signs Limited. Above: Bill "Bow Back" Bednarek brought to the show a chopper in memory of Dave Ankrom, otherwise known as "Farmer" who was a former member and adviser of 4-H and a fair board member. Tomahawks members helping with the car show included from front left, J.P.
