Old school museum to host open house
STEUBENVILLE -- The Pleasant Hill School House Historical Museum, located at 3125 state Route 213, will hold an open house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Those attending the open house will have the opportunity to walk-through a building which was once a one-room schoolhouse area children attended.
Visitors, if they so choose, will be versed as to the education children received during the 1800s and will have the opportunity to see the school supplies and materials used during those early days.
Anyone can attend the open house, which is free of charge.
Veterans commission to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The regular monthly meeting of the Veterans Service Commission of Jefferson County will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at 500 Market St., Suite 310. All veterans and interested parties are welcome to attend.
Seven Ranges to meet Wednesday
WINTERSVILLE -- The Seven Ranges Joint Fire District will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the 911 Center, located at 300 Airport Road, Wintersville.
Hunger action month
STEUBENVILLE -- The Urban Mission recognizes Hunger Action Month throughout September, and will help in the fight against hunger with an upcoming tour of its warehouse.
Those interested in visiting the food warehouse to learn how community support impacts thousands of lives each week, will have the opportunity to do so. Officials have planned a gathering from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the food warehouse, located at 311 N. Sixth St. The free event will offer residents the chance to see the mission's operation and learn about the assistance it provides for local citizens in need.
