BURGETTSTOWN -- The September meeting of the Jefferson Township Historical Society will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the White Church building located in Eldersville on Fire Road across from the fire hall.
The GPS address is 11 Fire Road, Burgettstown.
Officials stated they are pleased to have Brandi De-Noon Damewood, development manager, and Dennis Kevin, humane agent from the Jefferson County Humane Society in Wintersville speak during the monthly meeting.
They added those in attendance will learn how many years the humane society has been in existence and the high need there is for their service in today's world.
Damewood will bring her cat and Kevin will bring his dog.
Officials said to bring a friend and attend this meeting. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
A brochure was enclosed in the historical society's newsletter, announcing Christmas in the Village.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 3-5 at the White Church.
The church will be full of crafters and the mountain men on the greens will be returning.
The museum will be open during event.
The three-day event will be on a smaller scale this year, officials noted.
There will be no crafters in the Eldersville grade school, which has been rented by a flea market.
The Historical Society always needs help during Christmas in the Village.
Volunteers are needed to sit at a table in the White Church and pass out free historical fliers.
This is an opportunity to help promote the Historical Society, officials said.
Applications to join will be available.
