Autumn and alpacas

1 min read

The second-annual Fall Bash welcomed in autumn Sept. 21. Students from the School of Bright Promise joined residents from the Shaffer Plaza and visited the various animals from Zoo-2-Go of Cortland, Ohio. Among the animals children and adults had the opportunity to see were a menagerie of goats and roosters, as well as a miniature horse, an alpaca, a cow and a rabbit. Organizers Courtney Elliott, quality intellectual disabilities professional, and Regina Fluharty, assistant quality intellectual disabilities professional, explained the animals simultaneously provided fun and therapy for spectators. Visitors enjoyed a photo booth and balloons during the event. Among those taking part at the petting zoo were Shaffer Plaza resident Glenn Springer and Kelsey Garritano, direct support professional at the facility.
