WEIRTON -- The Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators met at noon Oct. 5 at Eat 'n Park in Weirton with President Diane Higgins presiding.
The 15 members in attendance entered the meeting room which had been designed in fall decorations.
Higgins welcomed attendees and called the meeting to order.
The "Thought for the Day" was given by Chaplain Bonnie Queses, who shared a poem entitled "Autumn." Queses then gave the prayer and blessing.
The minutes were presented by Ruth Fuller and approved by members.
Treasurer Carolyn Allison gave the financial report and reported she had sent the Visa gift card to an ITE student. Eileen Snyder enclosed a postcard of the teapot display in Chester, the shared the 2023-24 budget.
Under correspondence, Fuller read two thank-you cards.
Shirley Washam reported on Alpha Delta Kappa Month.
Altruistic chairman Margo Polk passed around a form for members to record their information.
Fraternity education was presented by Janet Benzo, who shared pictures and history information of the Fidelis Gamma Chapter.
Fuller thanked members collecting newspaper articles for monthly meetings. Higgins reminded members about the Ohio Valley district meeting being sponsored by the Alpha Tau Chapter. The meeting takes place at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 28 at Scaffidi's Restaurant. Registration opens at 11 a.m.
Higgins thanked Liz Pugh and Elaine McClung for serving as the evening's hostesses, then closed the meeting with the singing of "Alpha Delta Kappa."
