CARROLLTON -- The Alpha Mu chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met Oct. 14 at the Carrollton Bible Chapel, with President Carolyn Kibble leading the meeting.
Those in attendance began by reciting the Collect. Guests were then introduced for the club's meet and treat. Seven guests were in attendance, officials noted. The meeting minutes and treasurer's report were addressed and approved.
Members discussed the meeting set for Dec. 9 at the Riverview Methodist Church in Toronto. The December program will include the group Friends. Leaders stated the club should hold a love offering as its way of thanking them for performing and helping to defray costs.
Ann Wiley of the social committee, noted brunch for that meeting will cost $15, with money due by Dec. 1.
The hospitality committee's Barb Losey did several readings on character and communication, while the personal growth and service committee read a thank-you note from the Sycamore Youth Center.
Julie Blanton, who serves on the scholarship and world fellowship committee, reminded the group of the $100 teacher grant and that applications are due by Dec. 2.
During the next meeting, the club will do its annual Christmas auction. It was stated members will either make or buy a gift. The money raised will go toward the scholarships which the club awards. Kibble went through a list committees, noting which committee brought in which gift.
Baskets contained everything for teachers, ranging from chocolate, snacks and lotions, to gift cards, decorations and wine, according to members.
