Celebrating World Community Day

Church Women United's Weirton unit celebrated World Community Day Nov. 3. The event took place at the Memorial Baptist Church and featured a program entitled, "Living a Legacy of Love: Doing God's Work." Attending the celebration were 19 women from 10 churches. The day included the presentation of after-school snack donations to the Weirton Christian Center. Those accepting the donations from church member Diane Pastoric were Kim Weaver and Jackie Bioux. A luncheon presented by the church followed. Members announced the next meeting of the CWU will take place Dec. 1 at St. Thomas Church. A Christmas luncheon will be held at that time. Members will be collecting will be collecting gloves, hats, scarves, socks and any other warm item for the needy.
