To honor and thank local veterans, members of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Philoptochos Society presented 48 gift bags to the men and women of the Weirton VFW Post 2716. The bags were filled with treats, socks and gift cards. Preparing the bags, at left, were from left, Iris Banketas, Dorothea Stakias, Mary Kohelis, Janet DiLorenzo, Elaine Flinn, Laura Hinchee, Pearl Tranto, Dr. Maria Tranto and Peggy Makricostas. In addition, the society has been sponsoring a coat drive in which new and gently-worn coats are being collected. Officials will be delivering the coats to the Salvation Army for distribution. Society members who assisted with the coat drive, at right, included from left, Stakias, DiLorenzo, Kohelis and Pearl Tranto.
