Each fall, members of the New Cumberland Lions Club walk in memory of past District Gov. Jack Harris and past President Brian Webster, to raise money for the W.Va. Lions Sight Conservation Foundation, which provides vision assistance, hearing assistance, outreach and research. Each year, Lions Sight Conservation Foundation funds surgeries and low-vision devices for those unserved in West Virginia. The foundation, working with the Starkey Foundation, provides hearing aids to those who are unable to afford them. By supporting outreach programs, the foundation helps provide vision screening, general clinics and education about the importance of vision health to those who do not have access to regular vision care due to economic or other barriers. For information, visit wvsight.org. Donations to the foundation can be made on its website or contact any member of the Lions Club. Members who walked in memory of Harris and Webster, included from left, front, Alan Lee, organizer Jeanne Archer and Jim Gillespie; second row, Cole Young, Bob McNeil, Betsy Wilson Wells and Jim Wells; and back, Joyce Young, Patty Burgess and President Pam Stiles.
