Salvation Army gift
Members of the Steubenville High School Key Club continued the district’s annual spirit of giving, as students held a canned food drive to benefit the Salvation Army of Steubenville. The student organization has conducted this event for more than 30 years, according to organizers, who noted students who donated to the nonprofit agency during the collection received bonus points as an incentive from their teachers. The club collected approximately 2,900 items by the conclusion of the drive. Officials announced this contribution will ensure several needy residents throughout Jefferson County will have their pantries filled for the holidays and beyond. Those at the Salvation Army feed needy families and individuals through their on-site food bank. Among the Key Club representatives taking part in the event were, from left, Jacob Burchfield, Sena Smith and Natalie Romanyak.
