Toronto Council honors athletes
High school, junior high volleyball teams, varsity football team recognized during Monday’s meeting
A WINNING SEASON — Toronto Mayor John Parker and council recognized the Toronto High School volleyball team for finishing its regular season with a 20-0 record and reaching the district finals. With Parker are, from left: Riley Fisher, Callie Anderson, Coach Lori-Lynn Jackson, Ashton Thomas, Coach Chelsey Stockdale, Andrea Reeves and Michelle Anderson. The team also includes the following underclassmen: Leigh Anne Anderson, Tatum Derrington, Josie Dickinson, Brynn Donnelly, Chloe Fisher, Madi Littlejohn, Kylie Mitchell, Emma Parello, J.J. SPECIAL RECOGNITION — Toronto Mayor John Parker and council recognized the Toronto High School football team, noting it overcame various injuries to win the school’s first OVAC championship for its division in 25 years and finished its regular season with a 9-1 record, while Coach Josh Franke was named, with Catholic Central Coach Eric Meek, East District Coach of the Year for their division. With Parker, front left, and Franke were Red Knights Spencer Board, Patrick McEwen, Dominic Bouscher, Heath Thomas, Drake Bouscher, Alan Sanseverino, Ryan Komacko, Andy Silverthorn, Mason Marchbank, Cale Chisson, Nathan Liddick, Jett Costa, Landon Jaworski, Ethan Thomas and Colliers Espinoza.
