Free aerobics course offered
WEIRTON -- The Weirton campus of West Virginia Northern Community College will once again offer a free spring aerobics class beginning Jan. 16 and running through May 9.
The class will meet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the student center, located in the back of the building.
This is a low-impact class with an emphasis on continuous movement, strength improvement and flexibility, according to officials.
All exercise and stretching is done standing -- usually to music that is 128-150 beats per minute. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own ability level, it was noted.
Participants should wear loose or stretchy clothing and athletic shoes. A bottle of water should be brought as well. Stretchy bands will be provided; however, students are welcome to bring their own. The instructor will be Carol Teaff.
To register online, visit wvncc.coursestorm.com and look for the list of classes under the category "low-impact aerobics." Follow the instructions to register.
Students can register on paper prior to the first class, by coming in early to complete the paperwork.
