Quarter auction to be held
FOLLANSBEE -- Theta Chi Alpha fraternity is hosting a quarter auction at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Follansbee Community House, located at 1440 Main St.
There is a $5 entry fee which includes a first paddle. Each additional paddle will cost $1, according to organizers.
Fish fry meeting
MINGO JUNCTION -- The Mingo Knights of Columbus will hold a meeting to go over plans for its upcoming fish fry.
The meeting will held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the K of C hall.
The meeting is for any and all volunteers, according to organizers. Volunteers are still needed. Students wishing to obtain their community service hours can attend, as well, it was noted.

Upcoming Paint and Sip activity
NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Hancock County Humane Foundation will hold a paint and sip at 2 p.m. Saturday. The event will take place at the foundation, located at 241 Ohio River Blvd. in New Cumberland.
The cost will be $40 for a 16 x 20 canvas. The artwork features a snowman with his snow kitten.
"Attendees will learn stippling and shading techniques to create a wonderful tribute to our winter friends, while helping to raise money for our kitties and surrounding community, all with the help of our in-house, four pawed artists," organizers stated.

City retirees to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- Steubenville City Schools Retirees met for a dinner meeting at Pastaio Cucina in Wintersville on Dec. 14.
Those in attendance stated they "enjoyed a great dinner and had a good time."
During the meeting portion, the last collection was taken for the group's Christmas charity. The charity members contribute toward is taken for needy adults.
Officials stated several sympathy cards were signed by the large group in attendance.
The next luncheon will be held Saturday at the Ville inside the Fort Steuben Mall, located at 100 Mall Drive.
