Class of '67 to meet

WEIRTON -- The Weir High Class of 1967 will be meeting for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Luckino's 2 Restaurant. The restaurant is located at 2600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Weirton.

All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend, organizers said.

Railroader's breakfast planned

CHESTER -- All railroaders are invited to attend a breakfast meeting at EJ's Restaurant in Chester.

The meeting will take place at 11 a.m. Jan. 18. For information, call (330) 853-3045.

Women's luncheon planned

WINTERSVILLE -- A Go Red for Women Luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 2 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville. Tickets are $35 per person and sponsorships are available.

Proceeds to benefit the Trinity Health System Foundation Cardiology Capital Fund.

Lions Club meets

BRILLIANT -- The Brilliant Lions Club met for the first meeting of the new year in the Wells Township Meeting Hall.

Ralph Nicholson presided in the absence of President Butch Ford.

A letter from the Ross Township trustees was read, thanking club members for their participation in the Christmas parade that was held in mid-December.

The parade was deemed "a great success," by trustees as the event took place throughout the streets of Brilliant.

During the month of December, a 50/50 drawing was held. The winner received $900.

Dave Porter and Ron Retzer, active members of the club, were acknowledged for being Lions of the Year.

Club Organizers announced there is normally one award recipient. However, both men were entitled to the award, officials stated.

Member Susie Nolan, principal at Buckeye North Elementary School, thanked the club for providing nine coats to pupils in the building.

She stated the children were elated to receive the coats.

Kurt Creamer announced the annual pork barbecue fundraiser will be coming up this spring, with a tentative date of April 14.

Officials stated the fundraiser had two award recipients, Retzer and Creamer.

Nicholson reported the dues for the year should be paid, with the cost being $70.
