STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Township Association held its annual Christmas banquet at the Mingo Knights of Columbus Hall. The event featured the presentation of various awards throughout the evening.
The Township Official of the Year award, which is the highest honor the Jefferson County Township Association bestows each year, was presented to Wells Township Trustee Rodney Roe.
Judge Joseph Bruzzese was the recipient of the Hometown Leadership Award. This award recognizes his work for the Jefferson County Common Pleas Court, organizers stated.
Jeff King, a representative for Congressman Bill Johnson, presented certificates of recognition to this year's winners.
Tim Lynch, Ohio Township Association president, was recognized for his years of service in his last year as president of the association.
Scott Fabian served as the event's master of ceremony. Fabian started the evening by welcoming 230 trustees, elected officials and guests in attendance.
Mingo Junction Mayor Judy Ruckman welcomed guests to the banquet. The Rev. Mike Bongart gave the invocation and benediction.
Joe Adomovich introduced the event sponsors, thanking them for their financial support. Fabian recognized the elected officials, neighboring county officials and OTA board members present.
The evening concluded with the presentation of Christmas door prizes and naming the winner of the 50/50 drawing.
