NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Alpha Tau chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators held its February meeting at the Swaney Memorial Library.
President Amy Hannahs called the meeting to order. Chaplain Kathy Griffith read from "One Minute Inspirations for Women," providing the thought for the day.
Secretary Velda Icard read the previous meeting's minutes, then took roll call.
Treasurer Angela Cunningham gave the treasurer's report.
President-elect Fran Jones requested members provide volunteer information for the altruistic report.
Icard, who also serves as chairman of the nominating committee, reported the committee will present a slate of officers for the next biennium, which will be voted on at the March meeting.
Tammy Fields received a Violet Sister certificate of recognition for 10 years of membership in the organization.
The March meeting will include a silent auction with proceeds being donated to Cystic Fibrosis. Members will prepare decorations for the state convention which will be held in April at Oglebay Park.
The business meeting was adjourned and members worked with Margaret Daily at the New Cumberland Christian Church's Clothes Closet separating and organizing clothes which had been donated to the project.
