Kiwanis Capital District Governor visits Weirton

WEIRTON -- Gov. Eric Lamb of the Capital District of Kiwanis International visited with Division 18 clubs on Feb. 13 at the Holiday Inn in Weirton. A pep rally-theme was held in honor of the visit, complete with cheerleaders from Weir High School.

Seven Kiwanis clubs were represented, with 56 members in attendance. during the event, including four clubs from Division 18 had four clubs represented, including Weirton, Wellsburg, Wheeling and North Parkersburg.

Representatives from the Ohio District included the Steubenville and Toronto Kiwanis clubs. In addition, the governor's home club in Charlottsville, Va., was represented.

Lamb focused his remarks on being motivated to carry out the mission of Kiwanis International. That mission is, "Serving the Children of the World."

On behalf of the Division 18 clubs and by its Lt. Gov. Mary Kay Olashuk, Lamb was presented with a life membership in the Capital District Foundation.
