Local Friday fish frys
• WEIRTON -- St. Paul Church in Weirton will once again sponsor a Friday fish fry during the Lenten season.
The fish frys will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of St. Paul School, located downtown on Walnut Street.
The events will run through March 22. A Friday fish fry will not take place March 29 in recognition of Good Friday. Officials have opted to hold that final fish fry on March 27.
The fish will come from Coleman's Fish Market in Wheeling, officials noted.
Menu items being featured include, fried fish, baked cod and fried shrimp.
Sides dishes will be french fries, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese and Haluski (noodles, cabbage and onions.)
New menu items have been added, including a pasta marinara dinner and a children's fish dinner.

• IRONDALE -- Christ Community Church, located on Grant Street in Irondale, will hold a Friday fish fry from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The menu will consist of fish, macaroni and cheese, hush puppies, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and a drink.
The cost is a donation made to the church, officials said. Dine-in or take-out options will be available.
