STEUBENVILLE -- Spring is here -- and it's time for warmer days and outside activities.
This also marks the time when the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County is ready for a new season of StoryWalks, where pages from a book are enlarged and posted along an outdoor path for families to read together.
Now through April 14, the library has a StoryWalk on Fourth Street, The event is in conjunction with the Steubenville Eggsibition, where life-size eggs are displayed in storefronts of downtown businesses. Use a treasure map to find and follow the eggs next to the pages from the book "The Golden Egg," by A.J. Wood. When you're finished reading, visit the Main Library for children to get a prize.
Treasure maps are available at the Main Library, Bookmarx Books and Leonardo's Coffeehouse.
Next, head over to Beatty Park in Steubenville where the library continues its partnership to feature a new StoryWalk each month now through October.
The library will feature the book "The Spring Visitors," by Karel Hayes.
A prize awaits children at the Main Library when they are finished reading.
In the summer, Toronto residents can look again for a StoryWalk that is conveniently located on the fence of the community's public pool.
This StoryWalk is available July 1 through the end of the month. Children will be rewarded for their reading efforts with a prize awaiting them at the Toronto Branch Library.
New this year, will be two StoryWalks, one in Rayland and one in Dillonvale. Both will be available during July. A location will be announced at a later time.
