Alpha Tau Chapter inducts new officers

NEW OFFICERS — The Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators, installed its new officers for the 2024-26 biennium during the club’s April meeting. Those installed were, from left, front, Fran Jones, president; Michelle Lewis, president-elect; and Amy Hannahs, immediate past president; and back, Ginger Greene, immediate past president for the Southeast region; Kathy Griffith, chaplain; Mary Lou Martindill, secretary; Velda Icard, treasurer; and Michelle Bernardi, historian. -- Contributed

WEIRTON -- The Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators held its April meeting at DeeJay's in Weirton. President Amy Hannahs called the meeting to order.

Chaplain Kathy Griffith read "That One Thing," from "Five-Minute Inspirations for Women," as the thought for the day.

Secretary Velda Icard took roll call and distributed copies of the March minutes for approval. Treasurer Angela Cunningham gave the financial report. Altruistic Chair Fran Jones reported on the group's fundraiser and committee reports were presented. Chairman Pam Robinson presented the applications received for the chapter's annual scholarship. The applications were reviewed and the recipients will be invited to the May meeting where they will receive their awards.

Officers for the 2024-26 biennium were installed by Ginger Greene, immediate past president for the Southeast region. Officers installed included Jones, president; Michelle Lewis, president-elect; Hannahs, immediate past president; Mary Lou Martindill, secretary; Icard, treasurer; Griffith, chaplain; and Historian Michelle Bernardi, historian.

Hostesses for the meeting were Griffith and Jones. The May meeting will include a covered-dish buffet.
