Ohio Valley Chorale to perform Sunday

STEUBENVILLE -- The Ohio Valley Chorale will hold its first concert of the 2024 season at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 235 N. Fourth St. There is no charge to attend but a free-will offering will be collected. Seating is first-come, first-served.

The performance will feature Gabriel Fauré's "Requiem," as the main piece, while other selections will include Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus," "It Is Well with My Soul," "Sure on This Shining Night," "Earth Song," "The Seal Lullaby," "Old Irish Blessing" and "And Can It Be?"

The 75-voice chorale will be joined by guest soloists Chuck Cohen and Isaiah Ramsey and a few members of the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale.

Cohen has performed extensively throughout the Pittsburgh region. He is veteran of 10 seasons with the Pittsburgh Opera and a member of the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale.

Ramsey is a sixth-grade student at Harding Middle School.

He has performed in school musicals and the choir. This will be his classical singing debut with the chorale.

Accompanists include Bryan Sable on organ and piano and a 22-piece orchestra.

Erick James Lucas is the conductor.
