TORONTO -- The Toronto Sunrise Seniors Club celebrated Easter during its March 22 meeting, held at the Karaffa Recreation Complex. President Barbara Pritts welcomed members and guests. Following a blessing, the group enjoyed a covered-dish meal.
The kitchen committee was thanked for its service and the Easter decorations which adorned the tables. Committee members included Lynn Miller, Mary Ann Landerfield, Joe Radvansky, Sandi Radvansky, David Devore, Pritts and Don Pritts.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Secretary Laura Sheets conducted roll call of officers and read the minutes of the previous meeting. Members applauded the return of Treasurer Judy Sabol, who gave the financial report. The report was filed for audit.
Social Secretary Marlene Garrett announced those with March birthdays and anniversaries. Two members were remembered under the health report.
Pritts distributed fliers outlining information about two trips that will be available this summer. The group will travel to Midland on June 23 to see "Titanic, the Musical," at the Lincoln School of Performing Arts. Dinner at Connie's Corner in Chester will follow.
The group will travel to the Ohio Star Theater in Amish Country to see "Ruth," on Aug. 21. A buffet luncheon at the Dutch Valley Restaurant will follow the performance.

Landerfield thanked everyone for their support of the Prime-Time levy during the recent primary election, reminding seniors of the services available to them.
Pritts reminded members there are books and puzzles available for their use. "Groups gather here on Mondays and Wednesdays to play cards," she stated. "Please take advantage of this facility and join the groups."
Marsha McConnell was recognized as member of the month and presented with a small gift. Members then participated in an Easter egg game, with eggs containing candy, riddles and a grand prize won by Mary Emery.
Mary Lou Deku and Sabol were the winners of the 50/50 drawing. Following announcements and brag time, the meeting was adjourned. Members then played bingo, with winners including, Betty Mossor, Phyllis Smith, Nancy Ramsey, Miller, Ethyl Stevens, Landerfield, Sabol, Paulette Reed and Frank Marino.
The next meeting will be a pizza party held at 5 p.m. April 12. Members were reminded not to bring a covered dish to this meeting.
