Evening story hour set

Church to hold rigatoni dinner
IRONDALE -- The Irondale Christ Community Church will hold a rigatoni dinner from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, located on Grant Street.
The menu will consist of rigatoni, sauce, salad, bread and dessert. Dine in or carryout will be available. The cost is by donation only.
Retirees to meet Thursday
STEUBENVILLE -- Steubenville City Schools Retirees met for lunch at Capraro's Restaurant and Lounge in Hopedale April 11. Items were collected for Becky Foster to use in her capacity as an ombudsman in local nursing homes. Members can still contribute at the next luncheon, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
The group will give the collected items to Foster during the meeting. She will then speak about being her role as an ombudsman.
Church rummage sale
WEIRTON -- St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located on Three Springs Drive in Weirton, will hold its annual rummage sale, trash and treasure sale, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Many items will be for sale, including summer clothes, dishes, glassware, books, Christmas items and household items. For information, call (304) 723-4120.
Lessons in Japanese offered
WELLSBURG -- Manami Kawazoe, Japanese outreach coordinator for West Liberty University, will offer short lessons in the Japanese language and culture from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, June 8 and June 22 at the Brooke County Public Library.
Each lesson will cover a different topic. The program is free to attend. Reservations can be made by calling (304) 737-1551 or visiting brookecountylibs.org/events.
