Tri-State Marine Corps Auxiliary meets for May meeting

WEIRTON -- The Tri-State Marine Corps. Club Auxiliary met May 13 with President Shirley Brecht calling the meeting to order and beginning the business session.

Chaplain Mary Ann Smith gave the invocation and Secretary Marcy Spano read the members list of those who were sick.

Brecht led those in attendance in the reciting of the pledge to the flag and Spano noted she sent a sympathy card on behalf of the auxiliary to the family of Gabe Arlia on the death of his wife.

A card also was sent to Mary Arlia. Brecht said she presented an envelope to Gabe Arlia from the auxiliary, as well.

Spano read the minutes of the April meeting, which were approved. Brecht read the treasurer's report.

The June meeting was canceled, with members to resume at 6 p.m. July 8 at the VFW Hall in Weirton. The meeting was adjourned and members attended an ice cream social with cookies and ice cream.
