WEIRTON -- The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary will be holding a $5 masquerade and accessories sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
The sale will be held in the atrium of the medical center, located on Colliers Way.
Library to screen drama
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library will show the PG-rated animated film "Wish," at 5 p.m. May 9 and the PG-rated film "Ordinary Angels," a drama based on a true story, at noon May 10.
Attendees can bring a lunch to the noon screening. Popcorn and bottled water will be provided during both films.

Shriners to hold fall flea market
BLOOMINGDALE -- The Steubenville Shrine Club will hold a "Jump into Fall Open Air Flea Market and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21 at Alladinland, located at 6365 township Road 166 in Bloomingdale. A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Hot dogs and chips will be offered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local crafters, vendors and food trucks will be on site.
Outdoor, open-air flea market spaces will be $15 for a 12-foot by 12-foot frontage. Money is due the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reserved indoor crafter and vendor tables will be $35. Those making a donation to the basket drawing will pay $20. Payment must be made in advance. Historical group to hold dinner auction
HOPEDALE -- The Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park will hold its 30th-annual dinner auction May 11 at the Hopedale Fire Station.
The guest speaker will be James Stine, founder and curator of the Historical Stripping Shovel and Dragline Archive. Stine will discuss the Silver Shovel and GEM of Egypt shovels and what took place to put them into service for the Hanna Coal Co.
The historical park was formed to save the last silver spade -- a giant power shovel used for strip mining in Southeastern Ohio -- to promote awareness of the coal mining industry's role in the area's development. While it wasn't successful, the group has acquired a basket, cab and several pieces from the machine and now displays approximately 20 pieces of equipment. The display is located at a park near state Route 519, between U.S. Route 22 and state Route 9, and a mile west of New Athens. The site reflects its members' desire to preserve the history of mining, agriculture, logging, the oil and gas industry, related construction and transportation.
Dinner will include a live auction for "Making Christmas Memories," a Dave Barnhouse print depicting Steubenville's Nutcracker Village, Advent Market and the Market Street Bridge. Items to be auctioned include mining memorabilia and custom-framed pictures. A silent auction, 50-50 drawing and door prizes will be held. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for the buffet dinner.
