TORONTO -- The Toronto Sunrise Seniors welcomed guests Mary Jane Tottka and Patti Losey to the June 14 meeting at the Karaffa Recreation Center.
President Barbara Pritts called the meeting to order. Vice President Sandi Radvansky gave the blessing for the evening's meal.
Following dinner, Pritts thanked the kitchen committee for the ladybug table decorations and the meal prepared by members Joe Radvansky, Sandi Radvansky, Hank Sheets, Laura Sheets and Mary Ellen Marion.
Pritts read a selection which discussed the American flag in recognition of Flag Day.
"Today is our chance to renew our pledge of allegiance and devotion to our country," she stated. "Today, we pray that the stars and stripes may truly wave forever, over the land of the free and the home of the brave." Members then stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary Laura Sheets conducted the roll call of officers and read the minutes of the previous meeting. Assistant Treasurer Carol Rogers gave the financial report, which was filed for audit. Social Secretary Marlene Garrett announced the names of members celebrating June birthdays and anniversaries. She announced July's kitchen committee, which will be made up of members Mary Murphy, Candi Murphy, Dave Naukam and Darlene Naukam.

A cornhole tournament is being planned, as well. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
Betty Mossor was recognized as member of the month. The trivia game for the evening involved interesting facts about ladybugs. Hank Sheets was recognized for knowing the most about the insects.
Murphy and Joyce Gribben were the winners of the 50/50 drawing.
Following adjournment, members played bingo, with the winners including, Losey, Tottka, Sheets, Nancy Ramsey, Radvansky, Don Pritts, Bea Lytle, Louie Nelson, Mary Ann Landerfield and Bob Deku. The next meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Friday. Any senior within Ohio is invited to attend.
