Jonah McKay, a 2024 graduate of Madonna High School in Weirton, has been named this year's recipient of the John Colesante Scholarship award. Colesante was a 1964 graduate of Madonna and a strong Christian who led by word and example. His classmates continue to fund a scholarship in his name. McKay will be attending Westminster College, majoring in mathematics and playing football. On hand to congratulate McKay, were, from left, Madonna High Principal Jason Heckathorn, former scholarship recipient and current Franciscan University of Steubenville student Jazzlyn Melnyk, the 2021 scholarship recipient and Madonna High School teacher Lexus Melnyk, McKay, scholarship committee member Jim Pauchnik and Madonna High School athletic director Jeremy Eloi.
