Successful STEM camp
Approximately 35 campers and five adult leaders, above, took part in the Summer STEM Camp at St. Paul Catholic School in Weirton. Children enrolled in preschool through fourth grade received the opportunity to attend the camp, which is celebrating its second year. Among those who signed up for the camp were, from bottom left, Miles Krueger, Keegan Osleger and Sam Rocchio. The trio posed in an “outer space” setting to kick off the first day of camp, which focused on science, technology, engineering and math and featured hands-on, problem-based learning. During the three-day lesson plan, participants learned about space, competed in LEGO engineering challenges and dabbled in forensic science, while solving crime scenes.
