Library announces upcoming activities and events

STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Stebenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming activities and events. Officials stated children are welcome to stop in and pick up a Harry Potter grab-and-go bag at any of its library locations on Aug. 26, while supplies last.

Each bag contains a potion bottle to color or paint.

Children: Learn how to create a variety of origami art at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22. The activity is for children ages 5-11. Registration is required.

Adults: Read and discuss "Horse," by Geraldine Brooks at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 28. Register to attend.

Books on Tap Book Club will gather at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Hightower Brewing Co. for a book discussion. Call the Main Library for details.

Adults: Book club will discuss "The Marsh King's Daughter," by Karen Dionne at 6 p.m. Aug. 26. Call to join.

Adults: The library continues its Back-to-Basics series with Canning 101. Officials from the Ohio State University Extension office will explain the do's and don'ts of canning. The program will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 26. Register to attend.

Book club will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 27 to discuss "Neverwhere," by Neil Gaiman.
