STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will celebrate Banned Books Week Sept. 22-28.
In recognition of Banned Books Week, the Main Library will hold a reading and discussion on the book "The Bluest Eye," by Toni Morrison. The public is invited to attend the event at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25. "The Bluest Eye" was on the list of the American Library Association's top 10 books challenged last year. A Harry Potter grab-and-go craft containing materials needed to make a bookmark will be offered at area branches on Sept. 23, while supplies last.

Adults: Be a part of an interactive murder mystery performed by Roving Rogue Productions at 1 p.m. Sept. 28. Those attending will watch and help solve the mystery of a guest found dead during the opening of an exhibit previewing a historic manuscript that was originally owned by Andrew Carnegie. The manuscript is from the 13th century and tells a story of woe about a long history of owners who have had misfortune befall them. Is this murder caused by the curse or by human foul play? Doors will open at noon. The Toasted Traveler Food Truck will be parked in the library lot beginning at 11 a.m. The Friends of the Library will hold a bake sale at noon. The performance is free to attend. Registration is required.
Make a mini sunflower wreath for fall at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Registration is required. The wreath will be made from canning lids, burlap and fabric. The activity is free and supplies will be required of those participating.
Book club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 25 to discuss "Carrying Albert Home," by Homer Hickman. Call to join the group.
Pick up an autumn grab-and-go craft to make at home. The bags will be available on Sept. 25, while supplies last.
