Highland Springs Ladies League

The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf League played the back nine Monday.

The play of the day was, "Throw Out Your Worst Two Holes."

Ruth Reese was the first-place finisher.

Reese had an eagle on hole No. 13. There was a tie for second place, which resulted in a scorecard playoff between Yuko Atwell and Laura Froehlich. Atwell prevailed as the second-place finisher and Froehlich came in third.

Atwell had a chip-in on hole No. 16. She also took home the prize for low putts.

The prize for longest drive on hole No. 15 went to Brenda McCloskey.

Veronica Foldi won the prize for closest to the pin on second shot on hole No. 17.

During the remainder of September, league play will begin at 4:30 p.m. Call the clubhouse to sign up on the day of play no later than 3:30 p.m. to participate.

Town and Country Ladies Golf

The Town and Country Golf League held "Metal Play" as its play of the day Sept. 5 at Spring Hills Golf Course. This was the first round of the league's annual tournament.

Gross winners included, Laura Froehlich, A Flight; Pat Zorne, B Flight; and Michele Purviance, C Flight.

Net winners were: Cathy Jackson, A Flight; Lattee Chinakarn, B Flight; and Toni Dondzila, C Flight.

Winners for the longest drive on hole No. 2 were: Froehlich, A Flight; Debbie Hendricks, B Flight; and Shirley Guida, C Flight.

Winners of the longest drive on hole No. 9 were: Veronica Foldi, A flight; and Chinakarn, B Flight.

Winners of closest to the pin on hole No. 4 were: Foldi, A Flight; and Dondzila, C Flight.

The winner for the longest drive on hole No. 9 was Purviance, C Flight.

The low putts winner was Jackson, with 12.

Jackson had a chip-in on hole No. 8.
