STEUBENVILLE -- Broadway is coming to Steubenville High School this weekend as the International Thespian Society Troupe No. 5393 prepares to perform its annual cabaret show, "A Night at the Tonys."

Performances will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the high school auditorium. Tickets are on sale online and will be $12 for students and $15 for adults.

Proceeds will benefit the troupe.

Director Scott Wolodkin said this year's musical mashup includes decades of Broadway tunes.

"The focus of the show is on the best musical and best revival of a musical," Wolodkin stated. "So, we have songs from various shows, including tunes from 'Gypsy,' 'Carousel,' 'South Pacific,' 'Guys and Dolls' and 'The Outsiders.' We do this every year for the Thespians. It's usually our second show and gives them a different avenue of performance."

Troupe President Gabe Ensell said the group has 31 members who will take part in shows throughout the year.

"We will be performing the Disney musical 'Newsies,' and are planning a murder mystery," Ensell said. "We help at the school band's varsity show and do readings and skits for children at the 'Twas the Night' event around Christmas. We use our talents to help with fundraising and engage in helping others."
