WEIRTON -- President Kathy McCarrick welcomed everyone in attendance at the September meeting of the Three Score Senior Club. Bob DiFonzo gave the invocation, led in reciting the Pledge of Alliance and led in singing "God Bless America." Following dinner, McCarrick introduced Rich Grimm, who played guitar and sang music from the 1950s, '60s and '70s. Secretary Barbara Purks read the minutes from the group's August meeting, after which the minutes were approved. Treasurer Brenda Edwards presented the treasurer's report for those in attendance.

Edwards stated the club dues will remain the same this year. The cost will be $10. Money will be collected in October, November and December, it was stated. Sunshine Chair Winnie Kemp announced she sent cards to Josi Elliott and Margaret Chapman. Those who were celebrating a birthday or anniversary in September were recognized during the meeting. Those having a birthday included, Jane Watson, Mary Ann DiFonzo, Carl Bish and Lynn Bish.

Carl and Lynn Bish announced in addition to their birthdays, they are celebrating their 61st anniversary in September. McCarrick decorated for the meeting using a sports theme. She noted September is the start of football season and the theme was an appropriate choice. All those in attendance were encouraged to wear a sports-related outfit or jersey to correlate with the theme. For the October meeting, McCarrick stated the theme will be Halloween.

Reservation Chair Vivian Weigel reported there were 42 members and two guests present. McCarrick explained the nominating committee will present a slate of officers for the upcoming year at the October meeting. Members will vote on the election of officers at the November meeting, she noted, adding the officers will be installed in December.

Officials announced the club will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.
