During the Jefferson County Sheriff Department's Christmas luncheon for veterans on Dec. 13, members of the Jefferson County Veterans Association presented a plaque to Sheriff Fred Abdalla Jr. The special Christmas gesture was to recognize all of Abdalla's efforts in supporting the association's programs and events, and for his continued cooperation which strengthens the bond between veterans and community. Those presenting the plaque included, from left, front, JCVA supporters Giada and Joseph Maccariella; and back, Adjutant Barry Bardone, Tom McCain, Commander John Kaffana, Abdalla, Fred Tarr, Frank Santa, Finance Officer Tony Phillippi and Tom Hutkay.
